Rosia "Rosie" Horton, born June 14th, 1933, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 28th, 2024.
She was married to her soulmate, Reverend Harold Horton, until he departed to his Heavenly home in 2014. Together, they helped to build and pastor High Bridge Church of the Nazarene, until Reverend Horton's death. Rosie continued to be the church secretary until 2022.
Rosie loved flowers, and roses were her favorite. She took such good care of her roses that they loved her back and would bloom until the winter's ice plucked the blooms away, only to be resurrected early the next spring.
She, too, was just as resilient as her beloved roses and fought very hard to remain with her family for the last year of her life.
Rosie was the first person to help if there was an animal or person in need. She always put others before herself and put their needs before hers. If you knew Rosie, it was impossible not to love her. Rosie was a gentle person who loved her family as much as any person possibly could.
She leaves behind her three children: Deborah Borecki, daughter; Darrell (Holley) Horton, son; Mark (Denise) Horton, son; and one brother, Henry Arrowood.
Six grandchildren: Sarah Borecki, granddaughter and caregiver; Tyler Horton, grandson; McKenzie Horton, granddaughter; Dustin Horton, grandson; Natasha Horton, granddaughter; and Amber Horton, granddaughter.
Rosie is also survived by several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, whom she loved greatly.
She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, John Arrowood, Dora Greer, Jane Crutcher, Fannie Pritchett, and Ester Merriman, as well as her parents Lewis and Martha Arrowood.
