Roy Edward Webb, 91, died April 2, 2013, at Wesley Village in Wilmore. His wife, children, and grandchildren were at his bedside when he went home to be with his Lord.
Mr. Webb is survived by his wife, Dorothy Dixon Webb of Wilmore; his sister, Florence Webb Dixon of Tahlequah, Okla.; and his daughters Nancy Joanne Webber of Albany, N.Y., Margaret Elaine Keeley of Wilmore and Janice Amy Crawford of Tinton Falls, N.J. He is fondly remembered by his grandchildren Catherine Joy Rokitka, Alyson Faith Webber, Sean David Keeley, Siobhan Grace Adkins, Stephanie Lynn Keeley, Suzanne Elizabeth Keeley, Nikki Montgomery, Daniel Alan Crawford and James Roy Crawford; and great-grandchildren Sam Montgomery, Sophia Montgomery and Evan Crawford.
Mr. Webb was born in Reading, Penn., and grew up in the Borough of Queens, New York City. He served in World War II as a captain in the Army Air Corps, stationed in England. At the end of the war, he compleated a Bachelor of Science degree at City College of New York and a master's degree in chemistry at Columbia University.
Mr. and Mrs. Webb were married in November 1945 and raised their family in Tinton Falls, N.J. Mr. Webb worked for many years as a chemical engineer at International Flavors and Fragrances in Union Beach, N.J. Upon his retirement, he and his wife lived in Kissimmee, Fla., and later in Lancaster, Pa.
Throughout his life, Mr. Webb was committed to serving the Lord in his local church. He loved to teach, and conducted countless Bible studies and Sunday School classes. He directed and sang in church choirs and was often called upon to be a song leader. He and Mrs. Webb continued to contribute to the Lord's work until the time of his death.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 7, at the Mount Freedom Baptist Church in Wilmore. Interment will be 1:30 Monday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Online guestbook at www.BettsandWestfuneralhome.com
