Roy Shelton

Roy Shelton, 81, husband of Martha Mae Turner Shelton, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at his home in Nicholasville. He was born in Jackson County, Kentucky, on March 23, 1942, to the late Jesse Shelton and Dema Baker Shelton. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Martha; brother, Cecil J. Shelton; sisters, Carolyn Yurvaich, Louise Belcher, Shirley Wilkerson, and Verna Ryker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 17, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor James Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where bearers will be Terry Wilkerson, Steve Ryker, Todd Coomer, Tony King, Bradley Turner, and Brad Newman. Honorary bearers will be Duane Gaston and Bob Sayre. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service, Monday, at the funeral home.
