Ruberta Powers, 98. Formerly of Nicholasville and Campbellsville, died September 16, 2015, peacefully in her sleep at her son Jack's home in Lancaster. She was the widow of the Reverend Charles Wesley Powers, and is survived by three sons, Charles (Carolyn), Jack (Brenda) and Delbert (Phyllis); four granddaughters, Angela Crossfield, Julianne (Rex) Little, Jennifer (Steve) Rainwater and Kristie (Bruce) Hanks; great grandchildren, Peyton Crossfield, Savannah and Taylor Rainwater and Parker Hanks. She was born in Hancock County, Kentucky on August 22, 1917 to the late Claude and Myrtie Taylor Arrington. She had two brothers and four sisters all now deceased. She married Charles Wesley Powers on October 9, 1937. God blessed her with a long and blissful life; a life she lived in His service and service to others. She and her late husband served, and were involved for more than 50 years, in many church ministries throughout the commonwealth Campbellsville, Columbia, Hardinsburg, Thompsonville, Mt. Washington and Chaplain. Both were a great blessing to the churches and communities where they lived and served. Most recently, she was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church in Nicholasville. She was a devoted wife, super mom and mammaw and a dear, dear friend to many. Visitation will be held at Betts & West Funeral Home in Nicholasville from 10-1 on Monday, September 21, 2015, with the funeral at 1PM. Burial in the Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Parker Hanks, Taylor Rainwater, Peyton Crossfield, Steve Rainwater, Rex Little, Bruce Hanks and Billy Ray Barker.
