Stanley Gordon Briggs

Stanley Gordon Briggs, 84, husband of Phyllis Ann Terry Briggs, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023, in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Sandusky, Ohio, on August 8, 1939, to the late Clyde Gordon Briggs and Alberta Irene Rumbaugh. He grew up in Ashland, Ohio, and graduated from Ashland College. He served in the United States Army and retired from Valvoline Global where he worked in several areas of accounting. He attended and served for many years at Southland Christian Church. Stanley was also an award-winning runner of countless miles, including the Boston Marathon. He found great joy in running and sports, especially UK Basketball and anything his grandchildren played. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Briggs; daughter, Julie Briggs; son, David Briggs (Lauren); brother, Larry Briggs (Peggy), of Ashland, OH; and five grandchildren, Evan Briggs, Mason Briggs, Owen Briggs, Cora Briggs, and Mariah Briggs.
