Nicholasville-Stanley Mitchell Stamper, 88, husband of Delva Mae Ward Stamper, went to be with his Lord Saturday, February 20, 2010. Stanley was born December 8, 1921 in Menifee County to the late Brandon and Mary Coburn Stamper. He was a retired Baptist Minister, a retired employee of Bluegrass Army Depot and a WW II Veteran receiving a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Additional survivors are eight children, Sandy Stamper, Sherry (Dale) Kelly, Sue (Ray) Smith, Vickie (Shawn) Spurlock, Sheila Stamper, Marsha (John) Vest, Stanley -Mickey- (Sandy) Davis and Helen (Walt) Anderson, seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great great grandchildren, a sister, Helen Clark, a special nephew, Leonard (Ann) Thompson, many other family members. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Davis. Services will be 11am Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9-11am Tuesday. Bearers will be Ray Smith, Shawn Spurlock, John Vest, Michael Vest, Anthony Spurlock, Leonard Thompson and Stanley B. Stamper.
