STEPHEN DUANE VAN WINKLE

Stephen Duane Van Winkle, 62, of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. He was born on May 31, 1956, in Hamilton, OH, to the late Everett and Eileen Creech Van Winkle. He was of Baptist Faith.

He is survived by his two children—Shay Van Winkle and Shawna Van Winkle. He is also survived by his six grandchildren, one niece, Makenzie Brumfield of Lexington, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Stephen (Steve) joined the US Marines in January 1974 and remained in active service until July 1977. He worked at Parker Seal Company in Lexington, as did his father. He also worked nine years at Dixie Cup in Lexington, as did his mother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his second wife, Mary Johnson Van Winkle, his sister, Sheila Van Winkle Brumfield, his paternal grandparents, C.W. and Elva Van Winkle of Jackson County, KY, and his maternal grandparents, Claude and Bonnie Oliver Creech of Hamilton, OH.

Graveside service will be held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery on Friday, August 3, 2018, at 1:30pm.
