Steven 'Stevie' Christopher Hurley Penland, 26, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was a graduate of West Jessamine High School, a member of Bethel Christian Church and a former participant in the Special Olympics. Survivors include his parents, Bobbie Mae Penland Tillery and Gordon Ray Tillery, sisters, Samantha and Elizabeth Penland, brothers, BJ (Becca), Robert and Chaz Penland, a niece Addison Grace, step siblings, Bailey and Oliver Tillery, grandparents, Deva and Johnny Benedict, Brenda and Neal Tillery, many aunts, uncles, cousins and close family members and friends. Waiting on him in Heaven is his dad, Billy Pendland and his grand-dad, Bobby Bottoms. Services will be 1:00pm Monday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Bales officiating. Burial will follow in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1-9pm Sunday. Bearers will be Mike Drury, Danny Carpenter, Glen, George, Greg and Scott Tillery.
