Vertrice "Butch" Lay

Vertriece 'Butch' Lay Jr., 57, passed away January 12, 2015. He was born in Richmond, Kentucky on October 17, 1957 to the late Vertrice Lay Sr. and Eula Mae Callahan Lay Durbin. Vertrice is survived by his wife Paula Robinson Lay, one daughter, Hayley (Eric) Butler, one son, Jacob Lay, five grandchildren, Courtney (Cody) Lopez, Holly (Ryan) Gosser, Cameron Miller, Deven and Joseph Downey, four great grandchildren, Abi, Carder and Sophia Lopez and Kayven Gosser, one brother, Robert L. Lay, two sisters, Rebecca (Paul) McCarty and Valeria V. (Brian) Marshall. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clinton R., William Alford and Marion Lennie and one sister Marsha Kay. Funeral service will be conducted at 1PM Saturday at Betts & West Funeral Home with David Marsee officiating. Burial will follow in the Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Bearers will be Cody Lopez, Brian Keith Marshall, Joseph Downing, Eric Butler, Paul McCarty and Brian David Marshall.
