Virginia Johnson Henkle

October 4, 1919 — February 3, 2011

Virginia Johnson Henkle, widow of Robert A. Henkle, died February 3, 2011 at Saint Joseph Hospital. She was born in Ceder Bluff, VA to Gus and Sally Nipper Johnson on October 4, 1919. Survivors are two sons, Charles (Dorothy) Henkle of White Post, VA and Dr. Hubert (Rachel) Henkle of Nicholasville, KY, a brother, R.W. Johnson of Mooresville, NC, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and five nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harvey Johnson and two sisters, Ethel Van Dyke and Emily Tatum. Mrs. Henkle lived in Oakwood, VA for 40 years and was a member of the Garden United Methodist Church. She lived in Nicholasville, KY for the last 30 years and attended Edgewood Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Betts & West Funeral Home in Nicholasville, KY on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 4:00 PM. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service. There will be a graveside service at Green Hills Memory Gardens in Claypoole Hill, VA on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 1:00 PM. Friends and family members will serve as bearers.
