Walker Douglas Means, 73, widower of Mary Alice Woods Means died July 26, 2008. Walker was born April 26, 1935 in Estill County to the late Charlie and Ethel Brooks Means. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Survivors are his long time companion, Barbara Justice-Lexington, four children, Brenda (David) Newton-Nicholasville, Tina Marie (Jeff) Miller-FLA, Vicky ( Doug) Coldwell-FLA, Keith (Sheila) Means-Wilmore, grandsons, Jeremy Miller, David, Clint and Chris Newton and Kevin Jones, granddaughters, Kimberly and Mary Miller, Ashley, Trista and Brittany Means, Lori Montgomery and Talena Dubinski, eighteen great grandchildren, a sister, Christine Johnson, two brother, Strater and Frank Means and other family members. Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Rev. Ike Sams officiating and burial to follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
