Wanda Carol Roberts Burdine

Wanda Burdine, age 89, born September 11th, 1934, went to her Heavenly home on July 30th, 2024. She was the daughter of Fred Roberts and Naomi Cobb Roberts. She lived most of her life in Jessamine County. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Aubrey Howard Burdine, son John Frederick (Freddie) Burdine, daughter-in-law Robyn Burdine, granddaughter Jill Burdine Bruner, two brothers, Glendon Roy Roberts and Cleophas Dean Roberts and an infant son. She was Momma to Freddie, Harold (Teresa), Anita (Anthony) and Jimmy (Kristen). She loved her grandchildren: Kenny, James, Tilissa, Chassity, Jill, Kim, Tera, Lauren, Luke, Shelby, Robin, and Shannon. And even though they called her Granny, she stepped up as Mom for all who needed her. She loved her 20 great-grandchildren and raised her great-granddaughter, Cierra. Through the years many of them stayed with her from time to time, and her door was always open to each and every one. Although she endured many hardships throughout life, she never gave up on family. She dedicated her later years to chauffeuring her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved every minute of it.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, August 5, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Norman Colvin officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, where bearers will be Jimmy Burdine, James Burdine, Kenny Burdine, Harold Burdine, Luke Day, and Cierra Locker. Visitation will be held the day prior, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral home.
