William Allen Cartwright

William Allen Cartwright, 94, widower of sixty one years to Ruth Reynolds Cartwright, passed Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was born September 12, 1922 in Winchester, KY to the late Charles and Vian Cornwell Cartwright. Allen was a retired grocer, member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church, the Gideon's, and a Marine Veteran. Allen also loved to garden and sing. Family survivors are four daughters, Margaret Ann (George) Heaton, Wilma Jane (Nathan) Young, Jo Allen (Richard) Wheaton, and Rae Christie (Scott) Pond, six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and other family members. Allen was also preceded in death by a grandson, David Alan Heaton, and his second wife, Ruth Bissinger Cartwright. Service will be 1:30 PM Thursday at Porter Memorial Baptist Church with Pastor Nick Sandefur officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of service at the church. Bearers will be sons-in-law and grandsons.
